The Best Homemade Steak

Ingredients

  • 2 1 lb boneless ribeye steaks (between 1 to 1 1/2 inches thick)
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 cup of Uncle Dibbz Texas Steak Rub

Instructions

  • 20 minutes before you cook the steaks, get them out of the fridge and let them come to room temperature.
  • Set up your grill for indirect grilling and preheat to 450F.
  • Drizzle the olive oil on both sides of the steak, and then season both sides with Uncle Dibbz Texas Steak Rub. Rub the seasonings into both sides of the steak and on the fat cap. Let rest for at least 20 minutes.
  • Place the steak on the grill in the cool zone (not over the coals) and close the grill for 10-15 minutes for medium rare.
  • Open the grill and sear the steaks directly over the coals for 3-5 minutes constantly flipping the steaks. Remove
  • Let the steak rest for 15 to 20 minutes after cooking.

*Dibbz Tip*

Use a thermometer to get the correct temp on your steak. Use the following chart.

  • Rare: 120F
  • Medium-rare: 130-135F
  • Medium: 140-145F
  • Medium-well: 150-155F
  • Well: 160F+
