Indoor Crawfish Boil
Ingredients:
- 5 pounds crawfish, live and purged
- 3 large onions, quartered
- 6 cloves garlic, smashed
- 4 large lemons, halved
- 8 ears of corn, halved
- 2 pounds red potatoes, halved if large
- 1 pound smoked sausage, cut into 1-inch slices
- 1/2 cup Uncle Dibbz Straight Drop Seafood Boil seasoning
- Water, enough to cover all ingredients
- Optional: mushrooms, artichokes, or other vegetables as desired
Equipment:
- Large stockpot or multiple large pots
Directions:
- Prepare the Pot: Use the largest pot you have, fill it about two-thirds full with water.
- Season the Water: Bring the water to a boil over high heat, then add the Uncle Dibbz Straight Drop Seafood Boil seasoning, stirring to dissolve.
- Add Flavor Enhancers: Squeeze the lemon juice into the pot and drop the squeezed halves in. Add the quartered onions and smashed garlic.
- Cook the Vegetables and Sausage: Place the potatoes in the boiling water first, followed by the corn and sausage after 10 minutes.
- Boil the Crawfish: Add the crawfish and return to a boil, cook for 5-7 minutes until bright red.
- Soak for Flavor: Turn off the heat, let the pot stand for 10-15 minutes.
- Drain and Serve: Drain the water using a colander, then serve the boil spread out on a covered table or in serving dishes.
- Enjoy: Serve with lemon wedges and melted butter for dipping.
