Ingredients
For the wings
- 2 1/2 to 3 pounds chicken wings, split
- 1 to 2 tablespoons avocado oil or olive oil
- 2 to 3 tablespoons Uncle Dibbz Memphis Bussin BBQ Rub
For the Honey Gold sauce
- 1/3 cup yellow mustard
- 1/3 cup mayo
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/3 cup BBQ sauce
- 2 to 3 tablespoons Uncle Dibbz HXT Sauce
- 1 tablespoon Uncle Dibbz Memphis Bussin BBQ Rub
Smoker Instructions
- Pat the wings dry with paper towels. Add them to a large bowl, drizzle with oil, and season all over with Uncle Dibbz Memphis Bussin BBQ Rub.
- Preheat your Traeger or smoker to 325 degrees.
- Place the wings directly on the grates or on a wire rack for easier handling.
- Smoke the wings for 45 minutes. Flip them, then cook for another 20 to 30 minutes, or until they are fully cooked and tender with an internal temperature around 190 to 200 degrees.
- While the wings cook, make the sauce. In a bowl, whisk together the mustard, mayo, honey, BBQ sauce, Uncle Dibbz HXT Sauce, and Uncle Dibbz Memphis Bussin BBQ Rub until smooth.
- Once the wings are done, transfer them straight into a large bowl with the sauce and toss until every wing is coated.
- Serve right away, or place the sauced wings back on the smoker for 5 minutes if you want the sauce to set a little more.
Oven Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425 degrees. Line a sheet pan with foil and place a wire rack on top.
- Pat the wings dry, toss with oil, and season all over with Uncle Dibbz Memphis Bussin BBQ Rub.
- Arrange the wings in a single layer on the wire rack.
- Bake for 25 minutes, flip, then bake another 20 to 25 minutes until the wings are browned, cooked through, and tender. For even more color, broil for 2 to 4 minutes at the end.
- While the wings bake, whisk together the mustard, mayo, honey, BBQ sauce, Uncle Dibbz HXT Sauce, and Uncle Dibbz Memphis Bussin BBQ Rub.
- Toss the hot wings in the sauce until fully coated.
- Serve right away, or return the sauced wings to the oven for 3 to 5 minutes if you want the sauce to tighten up a bit.
Recipe Notes
- The sauce is the hero in this recipe, so do not be shy with it.
- If you want more heat, add extra Uncle Dibbz HXT Sauce.
- If you want it sweeter, add a little more honey.
- These are great for game day, cookouts, or easy weekend wings.
